• Hello Everyone,
Over the past month, I have begun a new series of creative writing sessions in The Olive
Room at The Palms Health and Wellbeing Centre on The Avenue in Gorey.
I have been looking for a space like this for a long time, somewhere I could work as a
creative writing tutor and mentor in a calm and welcoming setting. I have found that in The
    Olive Room.

Recently, I ran a small pilot series of Friday morning writing circles. Together we explored
different approaches to writing, with time for reading, discussion and writing practice.
The experience confirmed for me how valuable it is to have a dedicated space for writing,
and I am looking forward to continuing this work over the coming months.
    Friday Morning Writing Circles
The next series running on a Friday morning begins on 17th July and runs for four
consecutive Fridays. Each session has its own focus and can be attended individually or as
    part of the full series.
17th July – Writing the Ordinary
Finding stories in everyday moments, objects, routines and encounters.
24th July – The Notebook Habit
Exploring the writer’s notebook as a place to gather observations, fragments, memories,
    overheard conversations and ideas.
    31st July – Following Curiosity
Using questions, images, memories and unexpected connections as starting points for
    writing.
7th August – Small Things, Big Stories
Exploring how seemingly ordinary moments can become compelling pieces of writing.
Suitable for beginners, seasoned writers and for those returning to writing after some time
    away.
Fee: €35 per session or €130 for all four sessions.

    One-Day Novel Writing.
    27th June, 10am to 4.30pm
This day is designed for anyone with an idea for a novel who are unsure where to begin, for
those who have already started a project and would like fresh direction, and for anyone who
feels they have a story they would like to tell.
Together, we will look at ways of developing ideas, creating momentum and building the
foundations of a longer piece of work.
    Fee: €80

    Memoir Writing Circle
Four Thursday evenings in August -7.30pm to 9pm

These sessions offer a gentle introduction to memoir writing and are suitable for complete
beginners as well as those who would like to return to their writing. Through guided
exercises and discussion, we will explore memory, place, experience and storytelling.
Fee: €80 for the four-week programme.

    One-to-One Writing Mentoring
I am also now offering one-to-one writing mentoring sessions.
You will have the opportunity to send work in advance, allowing us to focus on your writing,
discuss any challenges you may be facing and consider possible next steps.
Mentoring is available for writers at any stage, whether you are beginning a new project or
    working on an established manuscript.
    Fee: Available on request.
